To Live in France
Hi Calista,
hope you are all settled back at home.

The move was a bit hectic, what am I saying it was hell, very stressful.

Things are better now. The builder starts work on the east end of the building 17 Dec. We will then move in there while he carries on with the next 3 stages. I have been working very hard in the garden clearing 5 foot high weeds. We have borrowed 2 goats from one of our neighbours to keep the grass down in the orchard. The weather was very kind up to a couple of weeks ago, wonderful blue sky every day. It is not as cold as the UK.

People are very friendly, last Sunday we were invited to lunch with some neighbours, oysters, crevettes in garlic & cream, wonderful leg of lamb, cheese, then ice cream made by another local farmer. 6 hours in all. What a fab way to spend sunday afternoon.

I was in the UK twice in Oct with Jessica, she had a baby boy 30 Oct, 9 pounds & 24 inches long, a monster but very beautiful, he has masses of black hair & very cuddly.

One snag is we still don't have internet connection, we have to either use a neighbours (the farmer who makes the ice cream) or drive to an internet cafe. Which means I cannot respond to people very quickly. It is great to get messages.

Richard was in the UK working in the city for 4 days last week, luckily he has a friend with a flat in the Barbican so he stayed there & walked to work just round the corner, which mean't I did not have a PC.

Do keep in touch with your news. Very best wishes to you all, Amanda & Richard.
